This is something that can benefit everyone. and it's something that I think everyone should try (as best you can).
A very common thought that I have is (and I apologise) "for f**k sake Emma, you're so stupid" this is because I have quite the habit of doing, what I would class as, stupid things. Now when I have this thought, it never ends there. I think 'of course I'm stupid, because I did this and I once did that' and on and on it goes. I then go on to try and work out why I do these 'stupid things' and why I couldn't have done something else instead, like someone else would, and then I go back to 'Well of course that's what you did, because you always do stupid stuff, just like...' and this just goes around and around. Sound familiar? We all do it. And it happens with every conscious thought we have and it muddles our minds, and confuses us, and irritates us and causes us to just continue to think in the same ways that we always have (go back to my post about #neuroplasticity). So for the weekend, I'd like to set you a little challenge. When you have a thought, especially if it be a negative one, just witness it. Don't question it, or try to interpret it, don't judge yourself for having it. Have no opinion on it whatsoever. Just acknowledge it. Be a witness. It can be tricky, so don't put too much pressure on yourself to do this, but I would recommend giving it ago. I find the best way to do it is to write the thoughts down. Just pick one word to describe the thought, write it down, and then move on. So for example, I would most likely write down the word 'stupid'. Then, after a couple of days, read through the words and see how many are negative. Sometimes when you see it in front of you, you see it on paper, you finally see things clearer. If you have mainly negative words, then things need to change. And you can change them. You can change anything that you want.

What is Neuroplasticity?
"Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to adapt to changes in an individual’s environment by forming new neural connections over time" What has this got to do with hypnosis and the therapy you would receive from me? EVERYTHING. The things that we do often, which are also the neuro pathways that we use most often, become the things that we are best at. Which also means that those neuro pathways become stronger and stronger and stronger. That's great when you're trying to learn something new, but what about negative ways of thinking, or bad habits? Yeah, not so great in that case. What we do with hypnosis, through the therapy sessions, is create new neuro pathways. We then strengthen these new neuro pathways using hypnosis techniques. As this pathway gets stronger, and you start to use it more and more, the old neuro pathway, the negative one, stops being used, and eventually, by not being used, it will go away. That's a very simple way of explaining it, but hopefully you get the gist 🤷🏼♀️ Many people don't realise that there is a lot of science in what we do. It's not a load of mumbo jumbo, and it really can change your life. As I write this, today, February 4th 2021, is World Cancer Day,
'a day that unites people, communities and entire Countries to raise awareness and take action'. Cancer Research UK Last year I walked a marathon for Brain Tumour Research, in memory of my Dad, Roger Hewitt. I will be challenging myself again this summer to raise more money in the hope that one day no other family goes through what we did. As someone that has seen first hand, the pain that comes from this horrendous disease, I am offering free Hypnotherapy sessions to anyone that has, at any point in their life, been diagnosed with a Brain Tumour. This, along with raising money, is something that I can do, so I would really like to do this and I'll be doing it on behalf of my dad. If you are interested, please get in touch and be sure to mention this to anyone that has been affected by a Brain Tumour.
